Saudi Arabia’s First ‘Historic’ Swimwear Fashion Show

After the Met Gala Show, Saudi Arabia’s recently witnessed a historic milestone during day 2 of the Red Sea Fashion, where models walked the ramp wearing swimsuits. Although Saudi Arabia hosted the first Red Sea Fashion Week. It was began on May-Thursday, at the Ummahat island, promised three days of style and glamor at the St Regis Red Sea Resort.

Saudi Arabia held its first swimsuit fashion show as part of its Red Sea Fashion week. The swim wear was the work of Moroccan designer Yashima Qanjal was the showcase of the show. She said wanted to show elegant swimsuits that represent the Arab World. 

On the 2nd of the Red Sea Fashion Week, Moroccan designer Yasmina Qanjal labels Sara Altwaim and Eau swimwear showed their collections. While Yasmina’s show embraced fabrics and colors. 

Raphael Simacourbe, a French influencer who also attended on Friday, said there was nothing risque to his eyes but in the Saudi context it was a major achievement. 

Here most models wore swimsuits that exposed their shoulders, some had partially exposed midriffs and some of them featured plunging necklines with body-hugging silhouettes.
